Arriving November.

A vase of soft, rounded blooms needs one thing with an edge, and that is the job of a thistle. Each spray carries three spiky globe heads in graduating sizes, held on wiry stems above a loose tuft of fine, grass-like leaves, so it looks pulled from a meadow rather than made in a studio.

Aubergine is a deep plum-brown, almost chocolate in low light, and gives an arrangement depth. Chartreuse is a sharp yellow-green that works like a highlighter among whites and greens. This style is also sold as globe thistle, echinops, drumstick thistle or pom pom thistle.

Why You'll Love It

  • Three textured globe heads per stem in graduating sizes
  • Fine grassy foliage that adds movement at the base
  • Two characterful colours, one moody and one bright
  • An easy way to make a mixed bunch look gathered, not arranged

Product Details

  • Length: approx. 67cm
  • Colours: Aubergine or Chartreuse
  • Three heads per spray, sold individually

Styling the Shelf

Thread two or three through a bunch of hydrangea, roses or daisies from our faux flowers range and let the heads sit a little higher than everything else. Aubergine is lovely with dusky pinks and dried-look tones; chartreuse wakes up an all-white arrangement. On their own, five stems in a slim vessel from vases make a spare, modern statement.

Gifting

A small, clever addition for anyone who arranges their own flowers, and an easy extra to tuck in with a vase. See more in gifts under $15.

FAQs

Are the heads prickly?
No. They have the spiky look of a real globe thistle but are soft enough to handle and arrange comfortably.

Which colour should I choose?
Aubergine for warm, moody or autumnal palettes. Chartreuse for fresh greens, whites and spring arrangements. The two also work together.

In Short

The Thistle Spray is a 67cm faux globe thistle stem with three textured heads and fine grassy leaves, in Aubergine or Chartreuse. It works best as an accent threaded through mixed arrangements, or grouped alone in a slim vase.
