A night light should be something a child reaches for, not just a glow in the corner. Mr Maria, a design company based in Amsterdam, makes lamps meant to become lifelong roommates, using durable materials and power-saving light sources.

Our range centres on Miffy, the Dutch bunny, and her friends Boris and Snuffy. The First Light Lamp is made from soft silicone with a dimmable LED, standing 23cm for Boris and Snuffy and 30cm for Miffy, and the Miffy and Snuffy versions are rechargeable. The Bundle of Light collectables are 15cm tall and run on a CR2032 battery, the Boris Mini Light is 10.2cm with a built-in timer, and the Star Light lamps go up to 50cm for a statement piece. We also carry a Miffy soft toy by Bon Ton Toys.

Some pieces are marked online only and brought in to order, so allow up to 10 working days. Pair a lamp with prints and bedding from our nursery collection.

What are Mr Maria lamps made of?
They are made from soft-touch silicone, so they are light, easy to wipe clean and comfortable for small hands. The First Light and Star Light lamps use a dimmable LED, while the smaller Bundle of Light collectables run on a replaceable coin cell battery.

Which Mr Maria lamp is best for a nursery?
The First Light Lamp is the usual choice. It is dimmable, stands 23cm to 30cm tall depending on the character, and the Miffy and Snuffy versions are rechargeable, so it can sit on a shelf or move around for night feeds and story time.

How long does delivery take for Mr Maria lamps?
Some Mr Maria lamps are marked online only or preorder, which means we bring them in to order. Allow up to 10 working days for those. We deliver NZ wide from our Mount Maunganui store.

Do any Mr Maria lights switch off by themselves?
Yes. The Boris Mini Light has a built-in timer that switches it off automatically, which makes it handy beside a bed. Check each product page for timer and battery details, as they vary across the range.
