Read moreA dishcloth is the most used object in a kitchen and usually the most neglected. Nawrap make the case that it deserves the same care as a good towel, and once you have used one the supermarket kind is hard to go back to.
Nawrap began in Nara, Japan, in 1930 and still makes its cloths there using traditional methods. The signature is a multi-layer weave that absorbs well, dries quickly and becomes softer the more you use it. We stock the Natural Dishcloth in 100% cotton, the Rib Dishcloth infused with binchotan charcoal, the Organic Multi Cloth, organic cotton face, mini and hand towels, the Binchotan Face Towel and a six pack of organic cotton makeup wipes.
Keep one cloth for dishes and another for benches, rinse and hang to dry after each use, and wash with your towels. A face towel and dishcloth together make an easy gift. Pair them with brushes and racks from Dishy.
What is binchotan charcoal?
Binchotan is a Japanese charcoal. Nawrap blend binchotan-infused rayon with cotton in some cloths, including the Rib Dishcloth and Binchotan Face Towel, because the charcoal is known for helping reduce odour between washes.
Why does my new Nawrap cloth feel stiff?
Nawrap cloths are made to soften with use. A few washes and daily use open up the multi-layer weave, so a new cloth feels noticeably softer and more absorbent after the first week or two.
How do I wash Nawrap cloths?
Rinse after each use and hang to dry, as the weave is designed to dry quickly. Wash regularly with similar colours; the organic makeup wipes are machine washable. Skip fabric softener, which can reduce absorbency.
What size is the Nawrap hand towel?
The Nawrap Organic Cotton Hand Towel is 36cm x 85cm, a size that works for hands and face. The mini and binchotan face towels are 25cm x 25cm, and the Rib Dishcloth is 35cm x 35cm.
