Wide through the middle and drawn in at the neck, the Luna Bellied Pot is the oldest vessel shape in pottery and still one of the most useful. The narrow opening gathers a loose handful of stems and holds them upright without a frog or a grid, so even three stems look deliberate.

The finish is soft white rather than bright white, with fine horizontal ridging that catches side light. It sits warm against oak, linen and clay, and suits the calm palette of our Japandi style edit. Choose the small for a bedside or shelf, or the large for a console or dining table centre.

As a gift it arrives as a finished object, and with a few stems from our stems collection it becomes a ready-made arrangement for a housewarming, a birthday or a thank you.

Why You'll Love It

  • A drawn-in neck that holds stems upright unaided
  • Soft white with fine ridging that warms rather than glares
  • Looks complete empty, so it doubles as a sculptural object
  • Two sizes that group well as a pair

Product Details

  • Colour: soft white
  • Small: 19cm high, 19cm across
  • Large: 23cm high, 23cm across
  • Not watertight, for faux and dried stems only
  • Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth

Where It Lives Best

Give it somewhere it can be seen empty as well as full: a console, an open shelf or the end of a kitchen bench. Grouping both sizes slightly off-centre reads collected rather than styled.

Stems roughly one and a half to three times the pot height suit it best, so look at 30cm to 65cm stems. Short gypsophila or a single hydrangea head keeps the shape visible, while a few taller branches give it height.

Gifting Ideas

  • A thoughtful housewarming or new home gift, especially paired with a stem or two
  • A quiet choice for someone who prefers neutral, pared-back decor

FAQs

Can I put water in it?
No. Neither size is watertight, so use it for faux or dried arrangements.

Which size should I choose?
The small suits a shelf or bedside. The large has the presence for a console or table centre and takes a fuller arrangement.

Does it need stems?
Not at all. The rounded form reads as a sculptural piece on its own.

In Short

The Luna Bellied Pot is a soft white rounded vessel with a drawn-in neck and fine ridged finish, in 19cm and 23cm sizes. It is not watertight, so it is made for faux and dried stems, and it works as a sculptural object when empty.
