Baby's breath is all about the cloud: hundreds of tiny flowers on fine branching stems, so it reads as texture rather than as individual blooms. In Shiraz it is a deep burgundy, which is an unusual colour for gypsophila and a useful one, because it brings warmth into an arrangement without adding a competing flower shape.

At 67cm the stem is tall enough to work on its own in a slim vessel, and fine enough to disappear into a fuller bouquet as softening rather than bulk.

Gypsophila is better known as baby's breath, and sometimes sold as gyp, so if any of those brought you here, this is the same fine clustered spray.

Can I use it on its own?

Yes. A single stem looks lovely in a slim vase, particularly on a bedside table, a shelf or a console. For a fuller look, use several together, or mix it with other faux flowers and foliage.

What colours does Shiraz work with?

Cream, oatmeal, soft pink, rust, olive, sage, taupe, brown, brass and warm timber. Green foliage beside it makes the burgundy read richer and more natural rather than flat.

Can the stem be trimmed or bent?

Yes. Bend it gently to suit your vessel, and trim with strong scissors or wire cutters if you need it shorter. Check the stem before cutting, since a wired core needs cutters rather than scissors.

Why you will love it

  • Fine clustered baby's breath texture in a deep shiraz burgundy
  • Adds warmth and contrast without adding another flower shape
  • Tall 67cm stem that works alone or layered
  • Especially good for autumn styling and moodier arrangements
  • No watering, no wilting, no dropped petals

  • In a ceramic vase on a console, shelf, bedside or coffee table, as a quick styling update.
  • Trimmed or bent to suit the height and shape of the vessel you already own.

Gifting

A lovely small gift for someone who enjoys styling their home, and it pairs neatly with a small vase. It also finishes a candle or journal bundle from our artificial flora range.

The takeaway

A 67cm faux gypsophila cutting in Shiraz, a deep burgundy version of baby's breath with fine clustered texture on branching stems. It brings warmth and softness to vase arrangements, shelf styling and autumn displays, on its own or layered.
