Freesias are the flower of early spring in New Zealand gardens, and this stem has all their easy charm. Creamy soft lemon trumpets open along one side of each arching stem, followed by a line of tight green buds, exactly the way the real flower grows.

The colour is barely-there: a pale buttery cream with the faintest hint of lemon, which keeps it fresh rather than sunny. Three slim branches rise from each 63cm stem with long, grass-like leaves. You may also find it sold as a freesia stem, freesia spray or cream freesia.

How many stems should I use?

Freesias look best in a small cluster. Three to five stems in a bud vase or small jug give a natural, just-picked look.

Do they work with other flowers?

Beautifully. Their slim, arching shape threads through rounder blooms like hydrangea or snowball and lifts an arrangement with movement and a soft touch of colour.

At an easy price point, a bunch of freesias tied with ribbon is a sweet gift for a teacher, a neighbour or a friend who needs a lift. Find more small gifts in gifts under $15.

Why You'll Love It

  • Creamy soft lemon blooms with realistic green buds
  • Arching stems that add movement to arrangements
  • A soft spring colour that suits white and neutral rooms
  • Affordable enough to buy in a generous bunch

Styling the Shelf

Place a small cluster in a clear glass bud vase on a kitchen windowsill or bathroom shelf, where the light can catch the pale petals. For a fuller spring arrangement, pair with white blooms and greenery from our stems range and set it in a simple vessel from vases.

In essence

The Freesia Spray is a 63cm faux freesia stem in soft lemon, with creamy trumpet blooms and green buds along three arching branches. It suits bud vases, spring arrangements and mixed bunches, and works well in clusters of three to five stems.
