Ranunculus is the flower that looks hand made. Dozens of tissue thin petals wrap in a tight spiral from a green centre out to a soft cream edge, and the buds sit tucked along the stem still closed, which is what gives a bunch that just picked look.

This one runs 72cm with several blooms and buds on the single stem, so one does more than you would expect. The cream carries a green undertone rather than reading flat white, which lets it sit against limewash, stone and unbleached linen without looking stark.

Ranunculus is also called Persian buttercup or simply buttercup, so if that is what you have been searching for, this is the same layered bloom.

How many stems do I need?

Two or three in a tall vase is a complete arrangement, because each stem carries multiple heads. In a mixed bouquet, one or two is enough to add the layered texture.

What does it pair with?

Blush roses, white hydrangeas and fine fillers like queen anne's lace. It also sits well with trailing foliage and bunny tails, which give the arrangement movement against the tight, structured bloom.

Can I bend or trim it?

Yes. The stem is wired, so you can curve the heads to face outward and cut the stem down with wire cutters to suit a shorter vase.

Why you will love it

  • Densely layered petals spiralling out from a green centre
  • Closed buds along the stem for a genuinely garden picked look
  • Cream with a green undertone, so it never reads as flat white
  • Tall 72cm stem carrying several blooms at once
  • Wired stem that bends and trims to suit your vessel

Details

  • Height: 72cm
  • Colour: cream with green undertones
  • Detail: multiple blooms and buds on one stem

Styling tips

  • Two or three stems in a tall ribbed vessel from our vase collection, and nothing else.
  • Mixed with blush roses or white hydrangeas from the faux flowers range for a tonal bouquet.
  • On a bedside table, console or vanity, where the layered head rewards a close look.
  • In spring table settings, where the cream and green feels seasonal without being obvious about it.
  • Combined with trailing foliage or bunny tails for movement against the tight bloom.

Gifting

Three stems and a tall vase makes a generous gift that reads as flowers rather than homewares. Browse the wider artificial flora range, or get in touch if you would like an arrangement built for you.

In Short

A 72cm faux garden ranunculus stem in cream with green undertones, carrying several densely layered blooms and closed buds on one wired stem. Also called a Persian buttercup, it is the stem that makes an arrangement look picked rather than bought.
