Get the Look - The Ambers

This look is about materials before objects. Stone, raw timber, white ceramic and linen, in a palette that runs from bone to warm sand, with nothing shiny and nothing loud. It feels restful because every piece has texture, not because the room is empty.

How do I style a travertine tray?
Keep it simple: a candle, a small vase and one found object, like a stone or shell. On a coffee table, stack two books underneath for height. Travertine is a natural stone, so put a coaster under anything wet.

Where should I put a floor mirror?
Lean it beside or opposite a window so it bounces daylight into the room, or at the end of a hallway to add depth. The Arch Floor Mirror stands 180cm high, so check your wall space before ordering.

Do faux stems really look real?
The good ones do, especially eucalyptus and branches like pussy willow, which are loose and irregular in nature anyway. Mix two or three varieties in one vase, bend the stems slightly, and they read as real from across a room.

How do I get a warm neutral look without it feeling flat?
Vary the texture rather than the colour. Put rough travertine next to smooth ceramic, linen beside timber, and matte finishes beside a single gold or wood accent. Keep everything within a few shades of bone, sand and warm white.
