Modern Amphora Vase

From $145.00

A vase is the most useful object in a house because it is the one that changes. Same shelf, same vase, different stems, and the room reads as new. It is also perfectly good empty, which is more than can be said for most decor.

Shape does the work. A narrow neck holds a single stem upright and makes one flower look deliberate rather than sad. A wide mouth wants a generous armful or nothing. Bud vases are best in threes at different heights. If you are buying one vase, buy the sculptural one that looks good with nothing in it, because that is how it will spend most of its life.

Our vase range covers bud vases, sculptural and statement vases, ceramic and glass vessels, jugs and bowls. Pair them with our faux stems if the real ones keep dying, and always fill a third of the height with foliage before the flowers.

What size vase should I choose?
Aim for stems that stand about one and a half to two times the height of the vase. Bud vases suit single stems, while tall floor vases need branches or large foliage to look balanced.

Can I use faux stems in a vase without water?
Yes. Faux stems need no water, so any vessel will do, including ceramics that are not watertight. Bend or trim the stems to suit the height.

How do I clean a glass vase?
Warm soapy water and a bottle brush for everyday cleaning. For cloudy marks, fill it with warm water and a splash of white vinegar, leave it for an hour, then rinse.

How do I style an empty vase?
Choose one with a strong shape or texture, place it where it catches side light, and group it with a book or a smaller object so it reads as intentional. Odd numbers work best.
