Vanilla Girl

Vanilla Girl is the aesthetic that made soft look intentional. Cream on cream on bone, with texture doing everything colour usually does, and a general commitment to the idea that a room should feel like the inside of a cashmere jumper.

It lives on the warm end of neutral. Bouclé, ribbed ceramic, milky glass, undyed linen, brushed timber. Scent is genuinely part of it rather than an afterthought, which is why a vanilla or tonka candle belongs on the list next to the vase. The whole thing is soft-focus, and the trick is to vary the texture constantly so the palette never flattens out.
