New SS21 From Bengali

Bengali was founded in 2011, by lovely Tauranga local gal Erin Rush as a sideline project to working full time. After starting a family and more time spent at home, Erin made a change to develop Bengali underneath it's own umbrella. From wholesaling, to markets, to selling exclusively online, Bengali became it's own collective in 2016.

The name Bengali stems from the source of their natural cotton in the Eastern part of India - within the Bay of Bengal. "We adore the calm & gentle nature of the Bengali people and from there our name originated."
"At Bengali, we are passionate about good quality materials without the exorbitant prices. Each piece is designed from our studio in New Zealand and carefully considered to ensure our designs are not just exquisite, but our quality is outstanding and perfect for your little ones."

 

"Our textiles are exclusive to the NZ market, and our volumes are small. This enables us to provide you with that special piece to add to your collection, that not everybody else has."

"We ensure that our overseas business encourages fair trade - only sourcing from government approved factories which support their staff in happy & healthy work environments, with respectful pay rates. We like to visit the companies that we work with to check the quality of the working conditions, and establish strong relationships."
