umbra-bevy-round-mirror-91cm-smoke
Bevy Round Mirror 91cm Smoke with Bevelled Edge by Umbra

Smoke glass does something plain mirror cannot.

Where a clear mirror simply reflects what is in front of it, the soft grey tint of the Umbra Bevy holds the room at a slight remove, softening the light it throws back and giving the whole piece more depth than its 2.5cm profile suggests. It is the difference between a mirror you look into and one you also look at.

At 91cm across, this is the larger of the two round Bevy sizes and the one that works as a genuine focal point rather than an accent. The bevelled edge is the other half of the story. Cut on an angle around the full circumference, it catches light differently from the face of the glass and gives the mirror a frame without anything actually framing it, which is why Bevy suits rooms where a metal or timber surround would feel like one element too many.

What does a bevelled edge actually mean?
The perimeter of the glass is ground and polished at an angle rather than cut square. It creates a narrow band around the edge that refracts light, reading as a subtle border. It is a detail you notice more in person than in photographs.

It has the scale for a living room wall above a sideboard, an entry where you want light pushed further in, or a dining space where it will pick up candlelight in the evening. The smoke tint keeps it from feeling stark in a room with warm timber, which is where a plain silver mirror often struggles. The rest of the range sits in our mirrors collection.

Which size should I choose?
This is the 91cm. There is also a 61cm Bevy in the same smoke finish, which suits a narrower wall or works as an everyday mirror rather than a statement one. If you are hanging above furniture, a rough guide is a mirror roughly two thirds the width of the piece below it.

Is this an oversized shipping item?
Yes. This mirror is excluded from our free shipping offer and will incur an oversize freight charge. Please contact us before purchasing and we will provide a custom freight quote for your location.

As a gift it suits someone who has moved somewhere with good bones and blank walls, or a couple whose taste runs quieter than a piece of art would allow for. A mirror is the safe version of buying someone wall decor: it works with whatever they already own rather than competing with it.
