This spray carries several of them on long, branching side stems, with deep green leaves gathered beneath each head, all rising from a slender 106cm stem.

White is crisp and bright, with a soft hint of green at the heart of each bloom. Light Green is the softer, earlier-season look, a pale lime that reads as fresh and natural against white walls. You may also know this flower as snowball bush, guelder rose or Viburnum opulus 'Roseum'.

Is 106cm too tall for a standard vase?

It is designed for height, so it shines in a tall or floor vase. In a shorter vase, let the stem sit deeper and angle the side branches outward so the blooms gather just above the rim.

Can I mix the two colours?

Yes, and it is one of the nicest ways to use them. A few white stems with one or two light green ones look as though they were picked from the same garden at slightly different times.

Snowball stems make a fresh, easy gift for a new mum, a bride-to-be or a friend who has just moved in.
